Still here- still pregnant I hope

I am just hoping and praying that everything is going well. I have my first OB appointment next week but I don’t think they do an U/S so I have to wait even longer.

We saw the specialist last Friday and they didn’t see anything out of the ordinary so that is good. Still measuring a couple days behind.

Got our Doppler but I can’t find the heart beat. I am not very worried about that (yet) because I know I have a tilted uterus and it would be hard for me to find the HB this early. I will try again this weekend.

I hope this post doesn’t sound too negative. I am just having a hard time being super happy about this pregnancy because I keeping thinking of the missed miscarriage I had at 10 weeks. I had no idea that the baby had died and the U/S was the worst thing I have ever been though. I don’t think I would make it if that happened again. I guess I am trying to protect myself a little bit.

  2. Honey, can you ask them if they'll do an U/S for you? Even if they don't normally do it...they may bend the rules for you taking into consideration what you've been through? It wouldn't hurt to ask. Hang in there...we are all behind you 100%!!

  3. Hi! I'm glad to have found your blog...as Krista said, they might do another u/s for you for piece of mind. I've been through some similar experiences and have found that they'll often make an exception.

At any rate, thinking of and praying for you!

  4. I am so sorry you went through that, I am so scared of this happening. Maybe your OB will be like mine and if they can't hear the heartbeat on the doppler they will give you a quickie u/s to put you at ease. Good luck sweetie!

  5. I asked my OB to do the ultrasound and I told him I was really worried there wasn't a heartbeat. He was very understanding and did an ultrasound immediately. I hope they will do the same for you! I will say some prayers for you that everything will be fine and there will be a healthy, strong heartbeat!

  6. hang in there!! the doppler is truly the devil. i got one but had trouble MANY a time finding the heartbeat due to my own ineptitude. luckily, it helped that i would use it right before/after an appt, to see if i was doing it right, and since i got such high heartbeat readings at my u/s's and couldn't find a beat with the doppler, i knew i was doing it wrong. just be super patient and assume it's YOU, not the baby, if you have trouble with it! xoxo.

  7. i think anyone who has had a miscarriage and gets pregnant again shares your fears. stay positive, though! i'll be praying for you that everything stays on track and that you'll bring home a happy, healthy baby.

  8. You have every right to be cautiously optimistic. I remember when I first got pregnant and went to my first OB appt and there was no heart beat. You are right, it's the worst feeling in the world!

Hang in there and keep praying. It is early to hear the HB with the Doppler, but hopefully your dr will do one for piece of mind!

  9. I totally understand that fear. It's only natural after what you've been through. I am so hoping things are going well and your u/s had wonderful news, and I am sending all sorts of positive thoughts your way. Hang in there!

  10. My midwife couldn't find the HB with the doppler until I was about 16 weeks so please keep that in mind when you are looking for it yourself and try not to let it freak you out as it is perfectly normal. It's also natural that you would be scared. Sending happy thoughts and sticky, sticky, sticky vibes your way! xox

  12. Sorry you are having to worry! Make them give you an ultrasound!!! I've never heard of a doctor that wouldn't if you asked...especially with a situation like yours. And I had a doppler but couldn't really pick anything up on it until about 14 weeks or so...which just made me worry. Praying that you are able to find some peace while waiting...I know it's SO hard!

  14. Oh I hear you - pregnancy is so very scary after infertility and loss! I had a similar experience when I found out my previous baby died during an ultrasound, so I understand the fear of appointments. Will be thinking of you!!! Hugs!

  17. Hi-I'm late to the part but I have to tell you-when I worked in OB, it was usually highly difficult to find the heartbeat on anything less than 12 weeks...sometimes even 16 weeks! Not that it couldn't be done; but even doing it every day, I probably had a 50-50 rate; conversely, I was really awesome at finding the placenta (which sounds very swooshy and considerably lower rate, since its yours).

    Hope you are doing well!
