Is it really August?

Umm…I am in shock that Charlotte is turning one next week. They weren’t lying when they said that time flies the first year. I have been busy planning her first birthday party. Here’s a sneak peek…
We are going on our first family vacation in September with my parents. C’s first trip to the beach! We are heading over to San Diego which is a 6 hour drive. Any tips for a long car ride with a one year old or tips on what I need at the beach??? Then in October we are flying to Florida for C’s Great Grandpas 100th birthday. Wondering how a 5 hour plan flight will be with her. I’m excited for the adventures but a little nervous to travel with her. Any helpful hints would be great!
She is now walking…soon to be running everywhere. She is very proud of herself and barley lets me hold her. She is a very busy girl always on a mission - usually it’s to play in the dog bowls. She loves moving their food from one bowl to the next. (She may or may not lick each piece of food as she does this)
Hope everyone is well. I will post first birthday photos soon! Cheers!

  1. I love her invitation and when did she come so close to turning one?!
I think something that has helped us out with Aiden while traveling has been introducing new snacks and new small toys on the trip. Also, timing take off/landing with a drink helps on their little ears. Charlotte will pick up on if you are stressing, so try as best as you can to relax. If you miss naps, it's ok. Even if she cries on the plane remind yourself that this happens all the time, you are just as entitled to travel as the next passenger. If there is someone you can borrow a carseat from at your destination, DO IT! Don't haul a carseat, pack n play, etc unless absolutely necessary. It's a huge pain in the butt dragging those all over an airport.
We've never been to the beach with Aiden, so I can't offer lots of advice there except sunscreen, wipes, and fun beach toys!
Can't wait to read your birthday post! I love all the IG pics of her, she is so darn cute!

  2. That invitation is adorable! We haven't traveled much, just a few car trips I agree with Heather that we do new small toys and movies on our laptop helped out quite a bit too. Can't wait to see more pictures of her birthday!
