Its official…I am not trendy and really suck at shopping. I have been out looking for some cute winter clothes for our Rome trip and I am not having any luck at all. It could be because AZ winter clothes consist of paper thin sweaters and leggings or that I just have no style and really want to be comfortable on our trip. I want to be comfy and cute – is that an option? My hubby has bought a couple things for the trip and he is going to look total GQ and sexy when we go out…I will be the one in the sweatshirt on his arm. I swear that the stores I was in at the mall today had more tank tops than long sleeve shirts. I guess I need to layer my clothes. I am also annoyed that I need to wear flats on the trip. Most all my pants are long and require heals. I guess I have to get a couple pairs of pants hemmed before we go.
Sorry for the rant…I think part of it comes from the extra weight that I have gained while TTC. I am unhappy with my body right now…that makes it even harder to shop. I will shut up now…at least I get to go on a vacation soon! I am a lucky girl!

I know how you feel, it sucks shopping when you're unhappy with your figure :-( Maybe you could just get the necessary clothes and then do some shopping in Rome? Good excuse to shop and I'm sure you'll find some gorgeous clothes over there! I LOVED Rome when I visited. Have you been before? Just be careful of those gypsies! They will trick you, so stay vigilant over your belongings! ENJOY!!! When do you leave?
ReplyDeleteI'm not a great shopper either. But here's a thought - shop in Rome! Seriously, they have great sweaters - Italian wool! - and leather goods - shoes! - so maybe save some of your shopping budget for Rome. If you buy one nice sweater, you could wear it several times there.
ReplyDeleteI *totally* struggle with shopping! I'm an ex-Catholic school girl and man oh man did I wish that we were required to wear uniforms for the rest of our lives! I have actually paid for an "on-line" consultant and highly recommend it! I used: http://goodlifeforless.blogspot.com/ and she did a great job! She picks clothes from cheaper stores and you can order them on-line so no need for even going to the mall (double woo-hoo). Buy yourself some nice outfits; I find it helps me feel better about myself when I'm not in sweatshirts and yoga pants all day:>
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Anne Taylor The Loft? I love that store and it seems no matter my size pre IVF....IVF bloat...or now Pregnant that I always seem to find something there...Just get it on sale:)
ReplyDeleteI'll be your personal shopper! I love to shop!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'd try New York and Company. I love a lot of their stuff, and if you don't have one near you, you can order online. Their clothes tend to run a little on the big side, but not the long side. So bigger waist wise, for pants, but a little on the short end.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that you chose Rome for your vacation. You are going to love it!!! When are you going? We went in December and it really wasn't too cold. We wore pants, long sleeves, and light jackets and we were never too cold. I am not the most fashion savvy person, so perhaps you shouldn't take my word for it - but I would definitely go with comfy. You are going to be doing a TON of walking.
ReplyDeletei'll help! i found an amazing sweater dress at banana the other day that looks great with leggings. so comfy but so stylish! you can wear it with boots during the day and then switch to heels for evening. although, in those streets of rome you might be better with wedges or flats! you also can't go wrong with jeans and a nice silky top. layer on a sweater or a jacket. good luck!
