Is 35 over the hill?

I really can’t believe that I am turning 35 this month. It seems so old to me. I keep thinking back to when I was a kid and I thought 30 was really old and now I am turning 35. The kicker is that I still think of myself as 25 and I think I still look like I’m in my 20s also. People are always amazed when I tell them my age. I think I would win a prize at the state fair with the old lady guessing ages – she would be way off.

I keep telling my hubby that I want to do something cool for my birthday. But the truth is all I want is a BFP. (If this IVF works) which I will know before my birthday than I don’t want to do anything fancy. If it doesn’t then I want the works to help me forget that I am 35 with no baby (oh and I will probably get really drunk!)

Getting old blows a big fat one…

  1. Yeah, it blows (as someone who turned 38 today. ugh). but as my always optimistic (harhar) mother says, "Its better than the alternative." Thanks Mom.

  9. No way is 35 over the hill! Remember, it's all about mind over matter and if you're mind says you're 25, then so be it.

I hope you have a great birthday and enjoy your celebration of youth!!

  12. 35 is not over the hill. What's the saying...50 is the new 40. So, 35 is the new 25! So, if you feel 25, you ARE 25. I really hope you get the bet 35th birthday gift with your BFP!!!

  13. 35 is definitely the new 25 (except my knees didn't hurt nearly as much when I was really 25! and of course, there's that whole "advanced maternal age thing, grrr) People are always surprised when I find out how old I am. It's a blessing and a curse I suppose. I changed careers, so I find myself with the same seniority as almost 27 year olds. Sometimes I want people to know I'm almost 36 just to get some respect! In general though, it seems like more people go through an extended adolescence these days. 35 is only half way up the hill.

  14. When I turned 35 it really bothered me. Like you I still see myself as 25! That's good. But when you're infertile, 35 feels so old.

I'm hoping and praying you get that BFP for an early birthday present!!!
