A little better today

I am in a better place today. Thanks for letting me vent yesterday. Today I am focusing on all the wonderful people in my life helping to take care of me. My hubby does a wonderful job at night and on the weekends but one of us has to work so he is gone all day. My mom has been a life saver. She is here everyday cooking, cleaning, and running errands for me! (she is only driving me a little crazy) I have a sister and a close friend that are home during the days and they come to help to give my mom a break! Everyone comes over and cooks for the helpless pregnant lady! Everyone keeps trying to shove food down my throat but I am still so sick so I am very limited on what I can eat! I am also really enjoying daytime TV. I should probably read a book or try to do something crafty - maybe next week!

I think I have been having some minor uterine contractions. A couple times a day my lower abdomen feels rock hard. I assume its my uterus. I told the doctor and she said that the old blood could be irritating my uterus causing the contractions. I guess it's no big deal unless they hurt and happen frequently.

I also asked about seeing a high risk OB because I think I now qualify. My OB said they will refer me to one if I reach viability at 24 weeks. That sounded a bit odd to me but I guess they know best.

I hope everyone has a great week! I will keep posting if there is any changes! Thanks for being there for me!

  1. I'm so glad you have so many supportive people around you to help take care of you and baby! I totally relate to the nauseous and not keeping things down, it sucks majorly! I did find that if I stuck to things that stayed down (mainly Eggo waffles!), I had some food in my stomach.
I'm still praying for you and baby like crazy! I can only imagine that bed rest will get old after awhile, but it will be totally worth it.

  4. I'm so glad you have such a great support system. That makes a huge difference.

I think it's odd they won't refer you now, people see high risk doctors all the time before viability :/ I'd probably be pushing for that a little bit more, because it doesn't seem to make sense to me...

Regardless, I am hoping for you so much. All sorts of positive thoughts, and wishing you strength to get through this.

  5. Your family sounds wonderful! One note on the high risk OB bit- I had a large SCH which caused a severe bleed at 13 wks and made my own appt with a high risk at that point. The high risk was willing to give me weekly/bi-weekly u/s when my regular OB wasn't willing to and the high risk gave me better advice on my care. If you feel strongly about it, be pushy!

  6. Here LFCA. I am so glad you've got such great support. Please advocate for you LO though and make your own high-risk/ MFM appointment. You deserve top-notch care! Plus the more frequent appointments will help monitor your weight loss, any additional abuption, and the growth of your LO. All too important to leave it to your seemingly blasé OB :( hugs to you and continued best wishes.

  7. So glad you have help - even if it drives you crazy at times! I agree with everyone else - just go to the high risk OB, why wait? It's your (and the baby's!) health, and it would be great to get more u/s to reassure you. Keep up the good bedresting!!

  9. I agree with everyone else- go to the MFM/ high risk ob on your own, for a second opinion at least. I don't like your doctor's response, at all. But as for you... keep up the good bedresting and I am thankful for your great support system!
